As the editor of our Channel Kindness platform, I have such exciting news for you. This month, we celebrated the publication of 2,000 stories!
I want you to know this achievement was only made possible because of YOU. Your stories of kindness, bravery, and action have spanned over 55 countries and have officially earned us the nickname of being “The Kindest Corner of The Internet.” Thank you for trusting us with your stories – we’re grateful for the opportunity to be their home and share them with the world.
If you are between the ages of 15 and 24 or know someone who is, we invite you to join us in celebrating 2,000 stories by signing up for the Channel Kindness Storytellers Club, a free online writing workshop. We know it can sometimes be hard to start a story so we invite you to be part of a session to help you brainstorm ideas and learn the tools to feel more comfortable expressing yourself through writing.
We also invite you to celebrate 2,000 Channel Kindness stories by:
- Continuing to write for Channel Kindness: This year, we’re excited to offer a $50 USD payment for each accepted Channel Kindness piece. To get started, we invite you to check out our guidelines here!
- Adding a kind act to our Kindness Map: If you engage in an act of kindness, we want to know about it! Submit the act to our Kindness Map and help represent your community!
- Taking action: We hope the stories on Channel Kindness encourage you to take action in your own community. Check out some volunteer opportunities here!
- Sharing your favorite Channel Kindness story with a loved one! Here are some of our favorites:
- Cookie Mom + Mr. Cory: In this multimedia story, this pre-teen and his mom are making the world a better place, one cookie at a time. (Location: United States)
- Mexico’s Big Step: Fundamental: For years, Mariana struggled with her mental health, but she knew she didn’t have to go through it alone. Here’s the encouraging words she would tell anyone struggling today. (Location: Mexico)
- How This Afghan Youth is Educating Women + Children in the Face of the Taliban: Nonprofit organization Afghan Girls Success Gate has provided educational opportunities to over 600 students! (Location: Afghanistan)
Thank you for being part of our community and sharing your stories with us – here’s to 2,000 more!
