I am excited to announce we’ve partnered with our friends at Jack.org to launch the Be There Certificate, a free, self-paced online course, available in English, French, and Spanish, designed to provide young people, and anyone, with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to support anyone who may be struggling with their mental health.
At the beginning of 2020, we partnered with Jack.org to bring awareness to their Be There program sharing the 5 Golden Rules, a simple and actionable framework teaching people how to recognize when someone might be struggling with their mental health, their role in supporting that person, and how to connect them with the help they deserve. Through that launch, we witnessed how deeply this program resonated with young people who expressed they needed a way to learn to cope with the uncertainty, support their peers’ mental health, and care for their own mental health as well. So we worked together to make those lessons into an easy-to-follow online course.

As we celebrate the tenth anniversary of Born This Way Foundation this March, we’re proud to continue our goal of supporting youth mental health and meeting young people with free, high-quality, easy-to-understand mental health resources applicable to their daily lives. This program was built for and with young people, using accessible language, real-life scenarios, and activities where you can immediately apply what you’re learning along the way. The Be There Certificate is mental health education for all people, so every generation can be equipped to support each other throughout their lives.
If we’ve learned anything as we’ve continued to navigate overlapping, ongoing global crises, it’s that we need each other. We have to help each other move through challenges, and there are resources available to help us do that.
