As of a few months ago, Emilee’s dream to be taller than her older sister magically came true, so now Emilee believes anything is possible. It is very handy to be taller than one’s older sister because Emilee spends a lot of time fleeing from her after invoking her wrath when she is bored. Even breathing in an older sister’s vicinity can become a crime when one is a little sister.
To assuage her spirit, Emilee loves being an artist, turning her apples into edible McDonald’s French fry sculptures and origami paper into moving stars. Emilee loves singing at the top of her lungs, collecting seashells, and microwaving sugar to make lollipops. She hasn’t burned down the house yet, which her family agrees is a miracle. Her carpet is only lightly torched from when she tried to make a treasure map with cool torched edges.
Emilee loves art of all kinds–from origami to singing to writing to painting. The moment her grandparents showed her the beautiful art of origami, she instantly fell in love because folding paper relaxes her. It’s the way she breathes. When she sings and acts, she becomes a braver version of herself. Emilee also loves writing rhyming poems because she loves playing with words to see how they can unexpectedly be couples together. Emilee is proud to say her coach chose her to be captain of her volleyball team even though she’s not even 5’2” because she cares the most. She has also won international awards for her films, poems, and spoken word poetry. Her favorite film she made is the one about her late grandmother (who made the best beef & broccoli in Vermont, had a 2nd grade education, and raised her.)
