“Anything is possible, even the impossible.”
Let me tell you my story of how I became the person I am today. When I was really young, I would get bullied and teased, and I did not know why. My Mom sat me down and told me I had a learning disability and things would take longer for me to learn. Because I was bullied, my main source of learning how to read was through Disney movies. This gave me hope.
I was so tired of people looking at me differently, I decided to try to make a change in the world. I wanted to tell my story through my eyes. When I told my friends I wanted to be an author, they did not believe I could do it. I didn’t learn to read until high school and had a wonderful teacher who took the time to find the way I could learn to read. Because of her kindness and never giving up on me, I believed I could do anything I set my mind to. I wrote my first book “Growing Up with a Disability” when I was in high school to let people know the challenges I faced, how kindness is truly powerful, and how we need acceptance and kindness in this world.
My dream came true, and I was so happy to share my story with the world and be an inspiration to others. I believe an act of kindness can change someone’s life. I decided to keep writing books and tell more stories with the theme of kindness, friendship, and caring about the world. I have written five children’s books and been interviewed on television and the newspaper and Radio Disney.
I want to share my favorite Disney movie, Zootopia, with you because it has a powerful message. I love the quote, “No matter what kind of person you are, I implore you: Try. Try to make the world a better place. Look inside yourself and recognize that change starts with you.”
