A large-scale Duke University Medical Center study covering 47 U.S. states and over 309,000 cases proved women are 14% less likely to get bystander CPR, while international studies cited by the Resuscitation Council UK show public disparities as high as 27%. That’s why Sharika Dhar wrote Closing the CPR Gender Gap: The Equity Playbook. Sharika has also recently been named a finalist in the NJ Governor’s Volunteerism Award Emergency Services category in recognition of her efforts.
