Bi Activist Eliel Cruz on Staying Kind

Marc Cohen, 22, recently graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts’ New Studio On Broadway with a BFA in Drama. Born and raised in Newport Beach, California, he always strived for the fast pace of the city. Marc is also a fitness instructor at Cyc Fitness in New York City. As an enthusiast for physical and mental health, he continually strives to find the balance between the hustle and being still. A born performer and empath, Marc loves to tell stories, especially those of people who aren’t normally heard and he hopes to shed light on the compassionate people of the LGBTQ community.

Stigma, shame, and secrecy surround the Bisexual community. With a whopping 40% identifying as Bi, it is disheartening to know that they are the group least likely out of the LGBTQ+ community to come out to family and friends, according to research by the Human Rights Campaign. However, with the growth of social media and representation in film and television, there has been a positive shift. We sat down with a prominent young activist for the bisexual community, Eliel Cruz, who also prides himself on not compromising his Christian faith for his sexuality.
