#BeKind21: Spread Kindness With Your Vote

Today’s #BeKind21 message is from Democracy Works.

Kindness is more than a state of mind. It’s the actions we each take every day to support and care for one another. At Democracy Works, we spread kindness by providing the tools and resources voters need to better their communities through civic engagement.

Kindness at the ballot box was challenged in 2020, as voters faced barriers, misinformation, and process changes at every stage of their voting journeys. But with Democracy Works helping voters navigate the constantly changing election landscape, kindness prevailed. Ultimately, a record-breaking 161 million people cast their ballots in the last General Election.

We can’t let this level of participation be a one-time thing. Democracy Works is actively maintaining and expanding 2020’s momentum by empowering voters to participate in local elections. When we all vote local, we play a direct role in shaping more equitable, fair, and kind communities across the country.

Just like our democracy, kindness isn’t a given. It thrives when we all consistently show up and use our voices to create change.
