December 14th, 2020 – Today, Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation announced its “#ChannelKindness Holiday” campaign in partnership with Glennon Doyle’s nonprofit, Together Rising, and other grassroots organizations to support communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. The campaign aims to reach Born This Way Foundation’s wide network of supporters and partners to encourage acts of kindness and giving back. People are invited to share their stories of support and experiences using #ChannelKindness.
“Together Rising exists to turn our collective heartbreak into effective action, and we are honored to work with Born This Way Foundation to step up for the needs of countless families during these unprecedented times,” said Glennon Doyle, Founder and President of Together Rising, which has raised over $27 million for women, families, and children in crisis.
To kick off the campaign, Lady Gaga and Automobili Lamborghini have partnered to give away the Huracán EVO RWD featured in the “911” music video through Omaze. Funds raised from the sweepstakes will go to support Born This Way Foundation. Together Rising and Born This Way Foundation are also teaming up with several partners to directly address the unmet needs of individuals, families, and grassroots community organizations. Chegg, the leading student-first connected learning platform, donated credits and grocery gift cards to young people aging out of foster care in New York through City Living NY; Bumkins donated baby products to families with babies receiving services and Starbucks will provide gift cards to support through Nido de Esperanza, and Haus Labs, Mavi, and UNIQLO donated items to Lakota families on the Pine Ridge Reservation through One Spirit. The public is invited to donate to support the campaign and share about organizations in need of support.
“At Born This Way Foundation, we are proud to work alongside non-profit partners and selfless individuals who tirelessly serve to better our communities, and build the kinder, braver world we all need,” says Maya Smith, Executive Director of Born This Way Foundation. “This year has been full of challenges at many levels, but we’ve also found kindness around every corner, and it will always be our mission and – purpose – to share that kindness with those around us.”
